Easily the best Chinese Resturant in the Bay Area. The Hone Kong Saigon Seafood Harbor is located in Sunnyvale, CA on Lawrence Expressway between Highway 101 and 237.

It offers authentic Hong Kong cusine including fresh dim sum, porridge, noodle soups.
It is always packed during lunch time 7 days a week so I usually go around 10:30 AM.

Recommendations:
Snow Mountain Bun (Most people who go for dim sum won’t leave until they had it)
Ha Gao (Shrimp Dumplings)
Hainan Chichen Rice
Sam Pan Porridge

A friend of mine whom I used to work with is going to another department. My former manager invited me for his going-away lunch at a Mexican restaurant in Santa Clara, CA. The name of the restaurant is Pedro’s Resturant & Cantina.

I have never been here before but the food was good including their chip and salsa. The setting of the restaurant is outstanding too. I love seafood so I chose “Comidas Las Hadas” which is snow crab and bay shrimp enchilada covered with Del Mar sauce. It is very delicious. My friends ordered something else and they all look good.

I notice they have Sunday brunch menu also but didn’t have time to look into the details.

I have been to this Japanese Restaurant many times and I come back again this past weekend.

It offers real IZAKAYA dishes but can be quite expensive.

From the previous visit, I have tried their fresh raw oysters and Asari ramen. Both of them are good. The soup of the Asari ramen has a rich clam flavor.

This time, I have tried yasai tempura (vegetable tempura), anago mechi (eel over rice), tako chuka salad (Octopus Salad w/special dressing), and amaebi (sweet shrimp).

The tako chuka salad was ok and the dressing is a little bit too salty for me.

Amaebi are fresh (4 shrimps per order). However, in my own preference, I would like to have the heads deep fried and serve seperately as I have tried in another Japanese restaurants. 

Recommendation:

Asari Ramen (Littleneck clams ramen).

Anago Meshi (Eel over rice)

This little Japanese Ramen shop is located in downtown Mountain View and it is always pack.

I have tried their Miso (Soybean Paste) Ramen and Shoyu (Soy sauce) Ramen.

Both the ramen and soup base are good and goes well together.

Korea House is a nice Korea restaurant in Santa Clara. It has relatively cheap buffet during lunch but the line can get ridiculously long. So you might not have the patient to line up again for a 2nd round. However, their dinner is great. First of all, there is non-stop supply of free Korean side plates (kimchi, different kind of pickles, japchae, etc). And the Bulgolgi (Beef) is great. So are the stone dishes (e.g. seafood rice in a stone bowl).

This place is usually pack by 7:00 PM on Friday and there are only limited parking. Again, don’t go for the lunch buffet.

Ristorante IL Porcino is a little known family style Italian restaurant located in Fremont. They offer authentic Italian cusine and a wide selection of wine. I was there for dinner and the food were great. However, family with little children please be aware that there is only ONE high-chair in the whole restaurant.
